KINGSPORT — A Kingsport woman has been displaced from her apartment following a Friday morning fire.
It broke out about 5:35 a.m. in the 600 building of Brandy Mill, 2416 E. Stone Drive. Kingsport Fire Department Public Information Officer Barry Brickey said units were on the scene within minutes and found the lone resident outside.
Thanks to the quick KFD response, none of the surrounding apartments suffered significant damage.
Brickey said the blaze appears to have begun in a storage room, where a light fixture was too close to combustible materials.
The Red Cross responded to aid displaced residents.
