ABINGDON, Va. — A Washington County substitute schoolteacher has been accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student in February.
Lee Anne Lester, 30, Glade Spring, was charged with one felony count of taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory relationship and two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Sheriff Fred Newman said the investigation resulted from information received through the principal’s office at Patrick Henry High School, revealing a short-term sexual relationship between the teacher and a 17-year-old male student.
Newman said the incidents occurred between Feb. 1 and Feb. 28. Lester turned herself in to authorities on Wednesday and was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond. An arraignment date was set for April 16 in Washington County Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court.
