ELIZABETHTON — A judge today released the name of a 14-year-old boy charged with stabbing two Happy Valley High School students — one fatally — over the weekend.
Nicholas Willen was charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault and remained held in the Regional Juvenile Detention Center pending arraignment. Willen is accused of fatally stabbing a fellow Happy Valley student, 16-year-old Elijah "EJ" McKinney, and severely injuring another boy.
Carter County Juvenile Court Judge John Walton complied with a Johnson City Press request filed Monday in keeping with state law requiring that juvenile arrest records be made public when the accused is at least 14 years old and the charge is second-degree murder.
