A Blountville man has been arrested for the second time in two years on charges related to child pornography.
Paul Daniel Myers, 24, of 275 George Carr Road, was indicted Tuesday by a Sullivan County grand jury and arrested Thursday evening. The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office reports he is charged with sexual exploitation of a minor after more than 100 images of child porn were found on his computer.
The SCSO was alerted to the alleged offenses by the Morristown Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. In January a warrant was obtained and executed at his home, where the downloaded images were allegedly found on his computer. Police say they also found evidence that other images of child pornography had been deleted.
Myers is currently held in the Sullivan County Correctional Facility on $100,000 bond. At the time of his arrest he was out of jail on bond and awaiting a trial on previous sexual exploitation of a minor charges.
A July of 2010 indictment alleged Myers was found in possession of images that, "depicted a minor engaged in sexual activity and simulated sexual activity that is patently offensive."
According to court records, Myers claims he accidentally downloaded the images while attempting to download adult pornography.
