June 25
A Georgia Private Drive resident relayed that a neighbor had spotted a skinny, long-haired, "dirty looking man" carry stuff out of his home. Thirty minutes later he called dispatch to report he didn't need assistance after all, a "misunderstanding" had occurred.
Nine people were fighting on Carrollwood Road and, "throwing rocks at cars." A male fled the scene in a Jeep, but not before declaring he'd, "be back to kick some ass."
June 26
The U.S. Forest Service requested assistance from the Sheriff's Office after stopping a vehicle on Flatwoods Road, "near the Rainbow Family gathering." A minivan was reportedly traveling the road while two males sat on the hood, obstructing the driver's view. Upon the vehicle's stop the hood-top riders ran away, while the driver admitted to drinking alcohol. When the Bristol, Tenn., woman was asked to perform field sobriety tests, "She stated she could not because she had jumped off the Highway 421 bridge, and her legs were weak." She was arrested for DUI and additionally charged with reckless endangerment, as there was a 13-year-old passenger in her vehicle.
June 27
An inmate at the jail requested police check on his wife because, "he has not heard from her for a while."
Kingsport Police Department
June 26
Police were called to a disturbance at a shopping center on North Eastman Road. Three people were arguing in the parking lot after someone, "slammed the car door too hard," and broke a window. Though it appeared, "they were going to fight over it," all ended up leaving the scene in the same vehicle.
June 27
A Virginia Street resident advised she had to go to court in Hawkins County, but "the product of my loins" — a 15-year-old son — refused to accompany her. When dispatchers advised that police couldn't just go pick up her child, the caller stated she would, "get someone else to do it," and began, "screaming at the top of her lungs. "
Police were alerted to a woman driving to the liquor store on Lynn Garden Drive. The caller stated the woman isn't supposed to be driving in the first place, as she has seizures, but today she is also drunk.
Hawkins County Sheriff's Office
June 25
Police were called to a vandalism complaint on Cross Valley Road. The owner of a Toyota Tacoma reported the suspect, a 70-year-old man, "came around the residence," in a golf cart and struck his truck. The golf cart driver also admitted hitting the victim's vehicle with a wooden picket, causing more damage. He was arrested.
A Mooresburg man reported being threatened via Facebook, after a female sent a message stating, "she was going to have bikers come and get him."
June 27
An officer observed a GMC traveling Main Street in Rogersville, driven by a man whose license was known to be invalid. A stop was conducted and the driver, 19, was found to be intoxicated. The teen then snitched on his uncle — who was also in the vehicle — for buying him the beer. Three empty cans were located in the truck and both men were arrested.
