Nov. 14
Officers at the intersection of West Clinchfield Street and Center Street observed a Dodge SRT and Saturn Aura accelerate quickly and spin their tires. A report notes they appeared to be racing, with stops conducted on both vehicles. One driver claimed his foot, "got stuck on the accelerator," while the other admitted that he, "took off pretty quick." The men, ages 37 and 44, were cited for reckless driving and released.
Sullivan County Sheriff's Office
Nov. 12
A male motorist allegedly put a woman out of his car on Bristol Caverns Highway, with her then lying in the road. Police responded to find no assault had occurred, but she was extremely intoxicated.
A county woman reported checks and "drug paraphernalia" had been stolen.
Nov. 13
Three juveniles were allegedly "putting logs on the train tracks" along Raytheon Road.
Hawkins County Sheriff's Office
Nov. 8
A Rogesville woman reported being threatened by a man. He allegedly told her, "If I wasn't crippled I'd shut you up."
Nov. 10
A deputy was dispatched to an assault at a bar along Highway 11W. Upon arrival a man was found "hiding in some brush" and had to be assisted out. Police say he attempted to explain what happened, but his slurred speak prevented the officer from understanding. He was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay child support, and additionally charged with public intoxication.
Nov. 13
Police responded to a possible vandalism complaint at a residence in Bulls Gap. A female reported coming home to find the vent hose on the dryer was loose, while shavings from a pencil sharpener were dumped in the kitchen floor.
