Blotter: Facebook post about mom fuels fight at school

Sullivan County Sheriff's Office

Oct. 18

A caller advised a woman was standing in the middle of Lebanon Road and, "yelling at cars driving by."

Oct. 21

An officer responded to Kinzler Lane, where a man and woman who had been drinking got into a fight over a gun.

A man allegedly threatened to burn down a home on Highway 75, and threw a TV remote to hit the caller in the chin.

Kingsport Police Department

Oct. 19

Dispatch was advised of people smoking pot inside a vehicle traveling Stone Drive.

Oct. 21

Seven males were reportedly fighting on Cherokee Street, with at least one armed with a baseball bat.

Hawkins County Sheriff's Office

Oct. 18

Two teenage students of Clinch School had a skirmish, with one boy kneed in the leg and hit in the side of the head. A police report says the feud had been going on for quite some time, with the latest incident spurred by a Facebook post about one of the boy's mother.

Oct. 20

A deputy responded to Carters Valley Road, where a man had placed a 6 feet tall wooden cross by the roadway. And though it had been concreted in the ground two feet deep, someone managed to remove it. The man said it was the third cross he's placed there that's been either vandalized or stolen.
