A Bristol resident, 63, has been arrested after allegedly attacking a 22-year-old man with a baseball bat, breaking the victim's elbow.
Clyde Malone, of 274 Bieldeman Road, Bristol, Tenn., is charged with aggravated assault in the early Wednesday morning incident. An arrest report at the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office says it occurred at 163 Grace Street, lot 12, at approximately 2:40 a.m.
According to statements in the report, the resident was arguing with Malone's daughter, 18. Malone, who was also on scene, allegedly exited his vehicle with a baseball bat. The resident reportedly responded by telling Malone to, "come on (expletive)."
The nature of the dispute between Malone's daughter and the man, or relationship between the two, is not identified.
According to the report, Malone proceeded to chase the resident around his car and into the woods, striking him with the metal baseball bat. EMS personnel who responded to treat the victim, who called 911 after running away from Malone, said it appeared his left elbow had been broken in the assault.
Police passed Malone's vehicle while responding to the scene, turned around and conducted a stop. The report says Malone was accompanied by his daughter, while the baseball bat was located in a back seat.
Malone was placed under arrest and transported to the Sullivan County jail in Blountville.
