A man reportedly on parole for drug convictions in Memphis, Tenn., has now been arrested in Kingsport, with police saying $6,000 worth of crack cocaine was seized from his residence.

At 3 a.m. Tuesday, Kingsport SWAT members and vice detectives served a warrant at 3955 Kent St., allegedly locating 60 grams of crack cocaine and materials used to package the drug.

KPD Det. Nathan Elliott says officers also seized more than $3,000 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of illegal drug sells, and a quantity of marijuana and prescription narcotics.

Two people were located at the residence when the warrant was served. Police say Rashad Sanders, 33, is currently on parole for a conviction of selling crack in Memphis, with information that he was now dealing in Kingsport prompting their investigation. Ramona Eugene, 19, was also taken into custody at the scene.

Each is charged with possession of crack cocaine for resale, possession of schedule IV drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are used, sold or stored.

Both were scheduled for arraignment Tuesday morning in Kingsport court, with Memphis authorities preparing for Sanders' transportation back to their jurisdiction.
