CHURCH HILL — Church Hill police arrested a Kingsport woman Wednesday accused of stealing two bags of jewelry from her mother earlier in the day.

Marcella Langrell told the CHPD Wednesday that her daughter, Meagan Rena Sellers, 23, 3608 Watterson St. Apt. 26, Kingsport, had spent the night with her the night before at her East Lane Street residence in Church Hill.

Langrell told police that she left home around 8:40 a.m. Wednesday and locked her bedroom door.

When she returned home around 10 a.m. Langrell reportedly found her bedroom door was open, and two bags of jewelry were gone — as was Sellers.

Langrell then checked with area pawn shops and eventually found her jewelry at the Gold and Guns store in Kingsport.

The jewelry had allegedly been pawned in the name of her daughter, and Church Hill police went to Gold and Guns and retrieved the jewelry.

Sellers was charged with theft over $500, a Class E felony punishable by one to two years in prison.

As of Thursday Sellers remained held in the Hawkins County Jail on $500 bond with her arraignment date set for Nov. 19.
