Tri-Cities area residents who live in, or will be visiting, the higher-elevation areas of the region should be prepared for strong, gusty winds today.
According to the Morristown Bureau of the National Weather Service a Hazardous Weather Outlook is in place for the higher-elevation areas and the Northeastern Tennessee foothills until this afternoon.
Meanwhile, most of the Tri-Cities region should see as temperate day with temperatures in the mid- to upper 60s. There's also a 90% chance for rain.
Temperatures will fall late this afternoon and evening as the cold front that's driving the wind alert arrives.
The chance for rain tonight is also 90%. Showers should begin ending shortly after midnight.
Tuesday is supposed to sunny, with highs in the lower 50s.
