ROGERSVILLE — A Hawkins County man picked an inopportune time to deliver a pack of cigarettes to his ex-girlfriend early Thursday morning, allegedly breaking into her home while she lay in bed with her new beau.

The ex-girlfriend, who resides in the mobile home park at 207 Carters Valley Loop, Rogersville, told police she was lying in bed with her boyfriend shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday when she observed a man standing in the doorway of her bedroom.

The intruder then switched on the bedroom light, and the ex-girlfriend allegedly recognized him to be Raymond Jarvis Miracle, 30, 207 Carters Valley Loop Lot 14, Rogersville.

HCSO Deputy Josh Byrd stated in his report that Miracle allegedly told the couple he’d come by to deliver the woman a pack of cigarettes.

“He was going to knock on the door until he heard she was having sexual relations with someone,” Byrd said. “Mr. Miracle entered the residence through the locked front door.”

The couple then reportedly got out of bed and began arguing with Miracle. When the new boyfriend called another male friend to come over, Miracle reportedly decided to leave.

The second friend reportedly met Miracle on the roadway and told him not to come back to that residence. Miracle allegedly replied that it wasn’t any of his business.

“I located Mr. Miracle at his mother’s home a few trailers up the road, Byrd said. “Miracle stated he didn’t know anything about the situation.”

Miracle was charged with aggravated burglary. As of Thursday he remained held in the Hawkins County Jail without bond pending arraignment Oct. 31 in Hawkins County Sessions Court.

Aggravated burglary is a Class C felony punishable by three to six years in prison.
