A man accused of shooting a local weatherman with a crossbow was arrested Monday on a perjury charge for not disclosing financial information on a court document.
Gerald Delbert Taylor, 53, of Johnson City, appeared in Washington County Criminal Court on his original charges — aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon — but was served with a warrant on the perjury charge.
It’s a result of what prosecutors say was a lie on Taylor’s affidavit of indigency, a court document detailing a defendant’s financial situation so a judge can determine if that person qualifies for a court-appointed attorney.
