ROGERSVILLE — A Hawkins County woman accused of selling oxycodone pills Tuesday in Rogersville received a prescription for approximately 500 oxycodone on Sept. 4 but had only four in her possession upon her arrest.
Deborah Ann Hall, 45, 501 Bynum St., Rogersville, told the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit following her arrest Tuesday that she is disabled and on TennCare.
Arresting officer Sgt. Lynn Campbell said her arrest information has been sent to the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration’s Office of Inspector General to determine if a TennCare fraud investigation will be launched.
Meanwhile, Hall has been charged by the HCSO with possession of Schedule II narcotics with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a seat belt violation.
The HCSO Narcotics Unit began investigating Hall early Tuesday based on a tip that she was trafficking pills from a grayish colored Ford Windstar van on the eastern section of Main Street in Rogersville.
Upon locating the van, the HSCO conducted a traffic stop for a seat belt violation.
While speaking with Hall, the lone occupant of the van, deputies determined that she was in possession of multiple brands of oxycodone pills.
Deputies also found three separate ledgers that allegedly documented the sale of pills.
Hall was also found to be in possession of nearly $600 in cash, which she had divided between two different pockets. Based on information found in the ledgers, the HCSO alleges that the $600 was proceeds from pill sales.
The cash and the van were seized by the HCSO.
Hall was released from the Hawkins County jail on $3,000 bond with arraignment set for Oct. 1.
