KINGSPORT — A Kingsport man was charged Saturday with stalking and aggravated criminal trespassing after allegedly sending upsetting messages via text to a woman he’d recently been accused of physically assaulting.

Nathan Shane Bledsoe, 24, 117 W. Windsor St., Kingsport, had been charged with domestic violence pertaining to the alleged assault on the woman, with whom he has two children.

According to a report filed by Kingsport Police Department Officer Andrew Goddard, the new incidents occurred last week on Sept. 3 and 4.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on Sept. 3, Goddard responded to the woman’s residence on Watterson Street in the Hawkins County section of Kingsport to give her paperwork regarding a previous domestic violence case.

At that time, the woman reported to Goddard that Bledsoe had been released from jail and had sent her 43 text messages in slightly less than four hours.

One of the messages allegedly stated, “I’m coming hard this time though, really hard.”

The woman told Goddard she is afraid Bledsoe will harm her or their two children. Goddard took the woman’s statement and told her he would be seeking an arrest warrant for Bledsoe on a charge of stalking. He also explained to the woman how to obtain an order of protection from the Hawkins County Court Clerk’s Office.

Shortly after 2 a.m. on Sept. 4, Goddard returned to the woman’s house. The woman stated she heard a loud bang on her front door, and upon opening the door she found a note threatening suicide, which she believes was written by Bledsoe.

The note asks the woman to “Raise my boys right, and burn me. I don’t want my family to see me dead.”

The woman’s residence is on Kingsport Housing and Redevelopment Authority property. Goddard stated in his report Bledsoe knows he is banned from KHRA property.

On Saturday, Bledsoe was arrested by the KPD and charged with stalking and aggravated criminal trespassing.

He was arraigned Monday in Hawkins County Sessions Court and as of Thursday remained held in the Hawkins County jail on $3,000 bond.

His Hawkins County trial date is Oct. 22.
