JOHNSON CITY — Forty-nine people from across the country have applied for the position of Johnson City Power Board president and CEO, including two internal candidates from the utility.
Candidates come from a wide variety of backgrounds, including real estate, education, public service, technology, health care and telecommunications.
A number of applicants come from neighboring utilities in East Tennessee, and from utilities in states as varied as Florida, Missouri, California, Michigan, Washington, Virginia, Arkansas and Wisconsin.
