KINGSPORT - A 32-year-old Kingsport man and 30-year-old woman are facing charges related to manufacturing methamphetamine.
Travis Harvey and Amber Anderson, both of 917 Dorothy Street, were going to local Wal-Mart stores and obtaining items used to manufacture methamphetamine, according to Kingsport police.
Detectives located the couple last Wednesday at the intersection of Rose and Globe streets. The couple attempted to leave in their vehicle, but were confronted by police.
Both Harvey and Anderson immediately attempted to covertly hide the bags they were carrying but were taken into custody.
Police found “all the precursors” needed to manufacture methamphetamine.
Both were charged with Initiating the Process Intended to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Promotion of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
In addition to the criminal charges, their vehicle was also seized.
Both were taken to the Kingsport City Jail and were arraigned last Thursday.
