A section of Broad Street from Church Circle to New Street will be closed over the next week or two as crews work to repair a damaged stormwater line. Kingsport Public Works Director Ryan McReynolds said the stormwater line collapsed between the Kingsport Public Library and the TriSummit Bank building.
Water was flooding Glen Bruce Park, loosening the brick in the sidewalk and eventually pooling along New Street. Work only affects the section of Broad Street and parking on the library side of the road. The other side of the road is open for traffic and parking. Motorists are advised to drive slowly through the work zone.
