Police are sorting through the details of an early Friday morning shooting in a Bristol, Tenn., mobile home park, which left one man dead and another with minor injuries.
Bristol Tennessee Police say Joseph Scott Horne, 32, of Bristol, Tenn., was killed in the incident. BTPD Sgt. Jason McCready said Horne, who was working for a local bonding company, visited 112 Madeline Drive shortly after 12 a.m., attempting to locate a fugitive.
Witnesses tell police an altercation broke out between Horne and one of the park's residents, who was not the person he was looking for. Horne suffered a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other man incurred a grazing bullet wound under an eye and lacerations to his head. He was treated at Bristol Regional Medical Center and has since been released.
Investigators are working to determine if the fugitive was in the area, according to McCready, and which bonding agency Horne was representing. As of 10 a.m. Friday no one had been charged in the incident.
The Sullivan County District Attorney's Office is assisting in the investigation.
