ELIZABETHTON — One deputy of the Carter County Sheriff’s Department said he was kicked in the chest and a lieutenant said he was bitten on his left arm when they tried to serve outstanding arrest warrants last week.

Lt. L.C. Tester and Deputy Billy Harrell went to 188 Old Stoney Creek Road, Lot 1, on Thursday afternoon to serve outstanding warrants on Heather McMahan, 28, 188 Old Stoney Creek Road, and Gary Allen Bowers, 32, 129 Charles Smith Road, Watauga.

Harrell said the officers were met at the front door by a woman who said she had not seen McMahan and Bowers. The officers asked if they could look around the residence. Harrell said he checked a closet and discovered a woman hiding under a pile of dirty clothes.
