MOUNTAIN CITY — A Johnson County Sheriff's Office deputy fired shots to stop a vehicle headed toward him after a high-speed chase on Tenn. Highway 67 late Thursday night, Sheriff Mike Reece said.
Brandon Michael Stanley was arrested on numerous charges following the incident that began just before 11 p.m. when deputies spotted Stanley's car speeding on Tenn. 67.
When a deputy turned on sirens and emergency lights, Stanley began to speed up and turned off his headlights. Stanley's vehicle reached speeds in excess of 100 mph, and passed other vehicles on the highway with his lights off.
