Police are investigating burglaries at two stores along Highway 75 in Blountville within approximately 24 hours, saying the incidents could be connected.
According to a press release from the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, the first burglary occurred early Sunday morning at the Village Market, across from Northeast State Community College. Entry was made by shattering the front door and a small amount of cash and cigarettes were stolen.
Approximately 3 miles away on Highway 75 Boone Store was burglarized early Monday morning. Once again the front door was broken, with cigarettes and lottery tickets reported stolen.
