KINGSPORT — No serious injuries were reported as a result of a multi-vehicle accident Tuesday shortly before 6 p.m. on Stone Drive near the Lewis Lane intersection.
Kingsport Police Department Central Dispatch said a power pole was struck near the Allandale McDonald’s restaurant, knocking out electricity along Highway 11-W in Allandale and extending into Mount Carmel as far west as the Englewood Avenue intersection.
AEP spokesman Todd Burns said 842 customers lost power in west Kingsport and Mount Carmel.
By 7:05 p.m., power had been restored to all but one customer, and that customer was expected to be back online by 11 p.m.
At least two vehicles were involved, but none of the people involved in the wreck were transported by EMS.

KPD said AEP was on the scene attempting to restore power. As of 6:30 p.m., traffic was still backed up on 11-W, but wreckers were on the way.
