Officers with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department arrested a woman and two juveniles following an investigation into several auto burglaries, auto thefts and other thefts in the Eastern Star Road area, according to a WCSD press release.

According to the release, deputies chased two suspects who had crashed a stolen go-cart with stolen items on Winchester Drive on Sunday. The suspects reportedly ran across South Pointe Drive toward Copas Drive and Eastern Private Drive, where deputies lost sight of them.

On Monday, investigators searched the area, and a witness said the suspects had tried to sell him a stolen item.

Investigators went to 1022 Eastern Private Drive, where they located two boys. One of the boys was hiding underneath a bed at the residence.

The stolen items were located, which included identification cards, debit cards, electronics, golf clubs and keys to automobiles.

Deputies questioned the youths and they admitted to a large portion of the burglaries and thefts.

According to the release, one of the boys lied to investigators about his identity, but was identified after a guardian was contacted.

The youths were charged with several counts of auto burglary, and more charges are pending. Both were taken to the Upper East Tennessee Regional Juvenile Detention Center and were scheduled for their arraignments Tuesday in Jonesborough Juvenile Court.

Shaylynn Mallon, 18, 1022 Eastern Private Drive, Kingsport, was also charged for filing a false report and accessory after the fact to burglary.

Mallon was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and was being held on $11,000 bond. She was scheduled to appear in Sessions Court on Tuesday.
