A press release has announced that Cabela's will be expanding the Bristol, Va., location by an additional 8,000 square feet to accommodate a powersports shop. Less than three weeks ago an official purchase & sale agreement was signed for purchase of land by Cabela’s at The Falls retail development center, off Interstate 81's exit 5.

With the addition of the powersports shop, which will feature a full line of boats, all-terrain vehicles, accessories and related products, Cabela’s at The Falls will approach nearly 90,000 square feet.
According to Bristol, Va., City Manager Dewey Cashwell, the focus for the Bristol location shifted after city staff provided Cabela’s with detailed information about area lakes and the popularity of boating in the region.
"This was clearly a case of Cabela’s listening to, and acting upon, the informed recommendations from city staff managing this project," he said. "We couldn’t be more pleased they see what those of us who live here know instinctively --- Southwest Virginia has boundless natural beauty and ample opportunities for those who enjoy outdoor recreational pursuits."
"During our weekly phone meeting, we learned that Cabela’s executives are exceptionally enthusiastic and eager to open as soon as possible," Cashwell said. "Their excitement is contagious, and gives further credence to the success of this partnership."
